The Somerset County Democrats have endorsed Ed Potosnak (puh-TOZ-nik) for Congress in the 7th District, which includes all of Branchburg Twp.
Although these are difficult times in Branchburg and the rest of the country, too many politicians in Washington don't understand that families are hurting. People are concerned that they won't have jobs, that they won't be able to afford health care for their families, and that they won't be able to leave an America that is better for their children than it was for them.
The seat is currently held by Rep. Leonard Lance. At the end of 2009, Lance reported receiving 60% of his campaign contributions from Wall Street firms, large banks and the insurance industry. Not surprisingly, Lance voted not to curb the banks that caused the financial crisis, voted not to prevent health insurance companies from discriminating because of "pre-existing conditions" and voted and spoke out against the Economic Recovery Act while simultaneously taking credit for bringing Recovery Act funds to Green Brook.

Township Committee will ask you to pay for more roadwork
The Township Committee will ask you in November to vote on whether to pay for $1.5 million annually for road maintenance.
